Oil Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Oil Technician to join our team. The Oil Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks related to oil and lubrication services, including conducting oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and other automotive maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of automotive systems, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.


Responsibilities:


- Perform routine oil changes and filter replacements for various types of vehicles


- Inspect vehicles to identify any potential issues with oil levels, filters, or other fluids


- Check and top off fluid levels, including transmission fluid, coolant, and power steering fluid


- Conduct tire rotations and inspections to ensure proper tire balance and tread depth


- Perform basic automotive maintenance tasks, including battery checks, air filter replacements, and windshield wiper replacements


- Keep accurate records of all services performed, including oil change intervals and recommended maintenance schedules


- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding oil changes and other automotive maintenance tasks


- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained


- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment


Requirements:


- High school diploma or equivalent


- Previous experience in automotive maintenance or a related field is preferred


- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, filters, and fluids


- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods


- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


- Strong customer service and communication skills


- Ability to work independently and as part of a team


- Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes


- Valid driver's license


Preferred Qualifications:


- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification


- Additional certifications in automotive maintenance or related fields


- Experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models


Working Conditions:


The Oil Technician will primarily work in a well-ventilated automotive service garage. The role may require working in tight spaces, bending, lifting heavy objects, and standing for extended periods. The technician may be exposed to various chemicals and hazardous materials, and the ability to follow safety protocols is essential. The role may require working on weekends or evenings, depending on customer demand.
